What happens after I request a demo?
One of our co-founders will personally reach out within 24 hours to schedule a video call. During the demo, we'll walk you through the platform, discuss your facility's specific monitoring needs, and answer any technical questions. No sales pressure — just a conversation about whether OceanStar is the right fit for your operation.
Do you offer pilot programs?
Yes. We're actively seeking pilot partners among Canadian RAS operators. Pilot programs include hardware installation, platform access, and hands-on support from our team. This is a great way to evaluate the system in your real operating environment before committing to a full deployment.
What species and facility types do you support?
Our sensors work with any freshwater or saltwater RAS — salmon, trout, Arctic char, tilapia, barramundi, shrimp, and more. The OST-S02 covers freshwater conductivity (0–2,000 µS/cm) and the OST-S05 covers marine salinity (0–200,000 µS/cm). We support single-tank setups through to multi-building commercial facilities.
Do I need WiFi at my facility?
No. The OST-MAIN-01 hub supports both WiFi and LTE cellular connectivity. If your facility doesn't have reliable internet — common in remote or rural locations — the system transmits data over the cellular network instead. Your monitoring stays online regardless of your internet situation.
How long does installation take?
A typical installation takes 1–2 days depending on facility size. This includes sensor placement, hub mounting, cable routing, system commissioning, calibration, and training for your operations team. We handle everything.
What's the cost?
Platform subscriptions start at $100/month (Starter, up to 20 sensors). Hardware packages start at $5,000 for a basic setup. We'll discuss pricing during your demo based on your facility's specific needs. Enterprise and multi-facility pricing is available.
